How the Reference Works
Indiana does not have one statewide booking-photo feed. County sheriffs create and keep jail booking records under separate local systems. The Indiana Department of Correction has a different search for people in state-prison custody, while Indiana's courts hold public case activity and dispositions. This site brings those layers together as a statewide starting point and sends visitors to the agency that controls the record.
What the Pages Cover
The material is organized around records and the offices that maintain them. The pages include:
- Indiana booking-photo law, record fields, request paths, and the difference between a roster and a court case.
- A County Directory that routes visitors to the county page for local roster and request details.
- Statewide fugitive notices, historic correctional records, and sourced Indiana cases described through their official record paths.
- Information about the IDOC offender locator and how it differs from county jail booking systems.
What This Site Cannot Do
This is a privately operated reference, not an Indiana government service. It is not affiliated with a sheriff's office, county jail, court, or corrections agency. We do not hold official records, confirm custody, arrange release, provide or remove booking photographs, retrieve records, or give legal advice. We are not a consumer reporting agency, and these materials are not for use in any purpose covered by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).
The site cannot:
- Confirm a person's current custody or release status.
- Release or transfer anyone, post bond, arrange a visit, or send funds.
- Provide legal advice or obtain a record for someone.
- Guarantee that an agency's phone number, fee, address, or roster entry is current.
For current county custody, contact the sheriff or jail that holds the record. IDOC can confirm state-prison information. The official agency, not this reference, controls its records.
Search Partners and Fees
Some search boxes connect to outside providers. Those companies set their own prices and control their results. If a visitor follows a partner tool to a paid signup, this site may receive a referral fee. That support helps pay for the reference pages, but it does not let the site change a partner's prices or search results.
